I have never dived before, can I go straight up to Instructor? PDF Print E-mail

PADI requires that there must be at least 6 months from getting your first dive certification (Open Water) to doing the Instructor Exams. So yes, you can go straight up to Instructor, but you will need to spread the training over 6 months and / or take some time out during your training. There are many options (diving and non-diving) to fill the time and we can provide suggestions to help.

Alternatively, you may want to go up to Divemaster first and then decide whether to go on to Instructor.
